Avner Sher is a draftsman interested in the relationship between construction and deconstruction. Eschewing traditional drawing materials, Avner Sher works on cork boards using tools such as wood scorching pens, screwdrivers and hammers which scratch, tear, engrave and burn the surface.
Israel is a land of big narratives and, in response, Sher's impulse is to seek out a much simpler, smaller and childlike place of desire where the power to demolish and then rebuild is as basic as the desire for a place with no rules, no library of knowledge, no science or engineering, just an instinctual expression which strives for authenticity. undefined
