Parker studied at the Slade School of Art (1925-28), where she won a number of prizes. She was an illustrator as well as a painter, and contributed the illustrations for Margaret Thomson Threads in the Web of Life in 1925 and In Pond and River Life, published in 1941. The Evening News, an early work, shows her to be a fine practitioner of traditional British figurative art. From the 1940s she lived in France, developing a more continental style of painting and settling in Antibes towards the end of her life.
