"Catherine Huerta was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in Window Rock on the Navajo Indian Reservation. She is a member of the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe. After graduating from Arizona State University, she attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
She worked in New York as a freelance illustrator for 15 years. She has developed a realistic painting style for digital images of nature, adventure, young adults and sci-fi/fantasy,
In 1995 she moved to France, and has been working as a freelance illustrator for clients in Europe and the USA. Most recently she has been working with the French Postal Service creating postage stamps and collectibles.
