Cornelia Wagner came from an educated bourgeois family. Born in Gottingen in 1864, the daughter of a well-known economist, she studied in Berlin and Rome where she married a Hungarian artist, Franze Packa, in 1890. In 1895, they settled in Berlin where she pursued a successful career as an artist with the support of her husband.
