(Cornelis Bellekin, active c.1640 - after 1663). Son of Jean. Born in Amsterdam where he will have been taught by his father who was a well known artisan for mother-of-pearl work, including its engraving. He continued his father's business in Amsterdam but also exercised himself in the pictorial arts (one engraving known, dated 1664). Most probably identical with Cornelis Belkijn who was fined and banished in Middelburg in 1663 for working there without guild membership (Obreen, vol. 6, p. 197). Animated village scenes: The Hague, Bredius Museum. The only other known signed example was formerly in the Hermitage Museum in St.Petersburg (ill. in Ned. Kunsthistorisch Jaarboek 1958) (edited by M. de Kinkelder, 2014) (https://rkd.nl/nl/explore/artists/6227)
