(http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_vault/2015/03/19/ea_seguy_insects_history_prints_of_insects_for_art_nouveau_and_art_deco.html) Seguy published many design folios utilizing the pochoir technique, a printing process that employs a series of stencils to lay dense and vivid color. He produced 11 albums of illustrations and designs from the turn of the century to the 1930s. (https://belovedlinens.net/textdesign/eugene-alain-seguy.php) Séguy was a French entomologist who wanted to use his artistic skill to glorify the sublime beauty of nature, creating what he called a ‘world of sumptuous forms and colours.’ He then transformed these beautiful illustrations into textile designs.
