In 2010, Fan Ho revisited negatives from the Hong Kong era that were never printed. By physically holding two negatives up to the light, Fan Ho would play with composition. Once he created something that pleased him he would place the sandwiched negatives on the scanner and digitize them together.

Fan Ho may not be as well known as Henri Cartier-Bresson and the other great street photographers of the western world, but his work is just as magnificent. He began photographing the streets of Hong Kong in the 1950s. His work from that decade and the next is positively breathtaking. He captured Hong Kong in an incredibly cinematic fashion.
