Francis J. Barone died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Morristown, NJ. He was 86 years old.
Francis was born on September 6, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, the son to the late Mary Diana (Magavero) and Michael Barone. He was a graduate of Temple University, receiving a Bachelors, followed by Masters degrees in Fine Arts and Education.
Francis was a highly prolific classical Artist and Professor at Temple University (Tyler School of Art) for many years. Francis was well known in Philadelphia art community, not only as a thought leader within fine arts and art education, but for practical contribution including Paintings, Sculptures and Mosaics adorning private homes, companies, educational institutions, churches and synagogues. He would frequently travel to Italy to source the best tile and other materials for his works. Outside of Philadelphia, Francis' work was displayed in Art shows including New York, London and Paris.
He enjoyed life with an easy going personality and was always quick with a joke, or clever remark.
