I love the smell of a freshly painted acrylic painting almost as much as the smell of a brand new vinyl record.
Every time before I start to paint I feel like I am about to receive a Christmas present and I get the very same feeling when I listen to new IDM (Intelligent Dance Music).
Couple of things led to start this project, but the two most important reasons are the love of IDM and the respect of abstract art. For me they communicate the very same thing. When I listen or look at them they fascinate me almost like a voodoo magic. Both IDM and abstract art are magical and very much misunderstood. Most people say it is easy to make an abstract painting, you just draw couple of zig-zag-ish line and spatter some paint over them and it is ready.
The same misbelief applies for IDM or for almost any kind of electronic music. They say that you just record some drums, bungs, effect and sound loops and you are good to go.
Nothing could be further from the truth… however I did not start this website to start an argument about taste of music or on painting/music creating techniques.
At the time of writing this introduction I have already experienced 20 years of “IDM passion” and by now I feel like I should say thank you for the genius artists who made IDM possible, so I decided to visualize their music by painting them on canvas... undefined
