Lebasque adopted elements of the Fauvist style, such as the flatness of color and form, but in a much subtler manner. Along with this, he participated in the collective exhibitions organized in Paris, such as the Salon des Indépendants and Salon des Artists Française. Lebasque portrayed women and children in his paintings with great hope and joy in colorful and intimate scenes.
