Jackson Eaton is an artist working in Melbourne, Australia. In brief, he makes work that addresses the vernacular through the genre of the photographic snapshot. His work is diaristic and self-reflexive, exploring themes of intimacy, masculinity and the failures of photography. Eaton completed studies in Psychology before undertaking a fine arts practice. In 2009 he held his first solo exhibition at the Perth Centre for Photography, work from which was featured in the Hijacked Australia/Germany photography compendium and touring exhibition. In 2011 he was awarded a JUMP mentorship grant by the Australia Council for the Arts and in 2013 was the winner of the IRIS Award for photographic portraiture. Eaton was selected for Primavera at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art in 2013. His work has been collected by the Art Gallery of Western Australia and privately both nationally and abroad. undefined
