Jessica Bromley Bartram is a freelance illustrator, graphic designer, and textile artist based in Ottawa.
A graphic designer, illustrator, and embroidery enthusiast who lives in Ottawa and, when she’s not working at her desk, enjoys exploring the city with Eleanor, her beagle-shaped sidekick.
With all of her creative pursuits, she’s interested in process, collaboration, and communication. Her home studio is filled to bursting with all kinds of different materials and media, including watercolours, embroidery thread, gouache, ink, and fancy papers.
Many of these analogue items show up in both her illustration and design work, bringing warmth and character to the things she creates (and appealing to her constant desire for new artistic experiences!). She has been doing freelance work for five years, and her freelance clients include The Canadian Association of Community Health Centres and Sparkhead Kids. She has a BA hon. in English from the University of Guelph (2003-2007) and a second Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Ontario College of Art & Design (2010-2015), where she won the Graphic Design Medal for her final thesis project at the 2015 Graduate Exhibition.
