I forgot now, who found this bird, but at the time, everyone I was sharing a studio with painted it. The old days -- back at Water Street. Not sure why no one seems to like this sort of thing -- perhaps it would be more popular among hunters, but this is not a bird to eat -- it's a kind of woodpecker, I am pretty sure.
