Message of Peace - Hope
The constellation Columba represents the dove from the Biblical story of Noah and the Ark. The dove appears as a symbol of peace, tranquility, and hope in many cultures. It represents good news, either through a message of action, writing or word of mouth.
The card depicts the personification of three important cosmic stars of the Columba constellation, each representing a significant role in the story. To the left is Ghusn al Zaitun, the olive branch, a symbol of rebirth and life. In contrast is Wezn, ‘the weight,’ to the right, symbolizing the mortality of man. And in the center is Phact, or the dove, symbolizing the intervention of God and His message.
Upright, Columba represents hope. Columba can also represents pacifism, and occasionally sacrifice for the benefit of the greater good.
Reversed, Columba may be questioning if a passive role is appropriate for the querent’s situation. The sacrifice may be excessive on an individual’s part, and Columba asks that the querent reconsider their response to a situation.
