I grew up in the woods of rural upstate New York, just outside of Binghamton. Went to Penn State for undergrad. Studied abroad in Australia. Photoshopped a vacation to Antarctica while in Australia.
Somehow got a masters at the VCU Brandcenter. I'm now a senior art director at Droga5 in NYC.
Recently, I was on this 30 under 30 most creative people in advertising list.
I enjoy bears, space and gifs.
Also, table tennis, mountains, science fiction, surrealist art, popcorn, animation and Jeff Goldblum.
This picture was taken during movember. [Referring to ID photo, which is GIF under Works].
The Flux Machine
I make animated gifs using old photographs from the library of congress flickr account. These are hosted on a tumblr site called Flux Machine. This artwork has been featured on such sites as Colossal, Wired, Mashable, Gizmodo, boingboing, Buzzfeed, io9, Cartoonbrew, and the front page of reddit.
A sheep farmer once emailed me and told me that my gifs made her morning. That was the best.

"Using old photographs he appropriates from the Library of Congress online archive, art director and designer Kevin Weir has launched himself into internet fame with his striking animated GIFs.
He says of his work: “My parents’ boss bought me a copy of Photoshop and I decided I wanted to be some kind of designer.” Having mastered the software, he found himself five years later “making black and white GIFs as a way to occupy myself during the downtime of an internship I had during grad school.” Check out his artistic and commercial work on hisTumblr, Flux Machine.
Weir is now an art director at Droga5 in NYC, he also also animates music videos and sassy birds."
