Born in Heidelberg (Germany) in 1965, painter Konstanze Sailer lives and works in Vienna (Austria), 1992 Academy of Applied Arts (Vienna).
Since almost three decades, Konstanze Sailer focuses on the human countenance, head, portraits and skulls. She has developed a radical change of perspective during decades of both her pictorial work and her drawings, thereby focusing upon the subject of heads. The different views upon this topic always allow having a new, a renewed approach to the face and the head.
Her paintings, inks on paper and drawings examine contours and outlines, revealing moment-like inscriptions that articulate and seize the possibility of creating reference. Rhythm and emphatic lines, partly set into one another, characterize the fragmented head-studies of the facial sections with their half and three-quarter profiles.
Regular solo- and group-exhibitions since 1988 in Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Italy, Japan, USA. undefined
