Like many, I spend too much time in hotels – the parking lots for motionless travelers – three or four stars ones near airports. I overnight there often for short stays less than a day long. I endlessly go from airports to airports, and hotels to hotels. It can be a disconnecting, somewhat lonesome experience. Often the only visual taste of the location is a glimpse out the hotel room window. I hope with this series to communicate some of that experience.
