Painter, engraver, writer and teacher of Italian origin. He was born in Vicenza (Italy), on April 10, 1890 and died in Buenos Aires on June 30, 1951. Based in Buenos Aires since 1893, he enrolled in the courses of the Fine Arts Stimulus Association and there he had Eduardo Sívori and Alfonso Bosco as teachers, being the first one who initiated him in the engraving technique. He continued later at the National Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1911. In 1914 he began to send work to the National Salons. As a writer, in 1916, he founded a specialized magazine on engraving techniques, Engraving, aimed at disseminating both ideas and works, with the intention of arousing public interest in that discipline. He also worked as a journalist in publications such as El tiempo, Athinae y Momento plástico. Another important activity was in the teaching field: he was Director of Fine Arts of the Province of Buenos Aires (1943-44) and professor of engraving at the Superior School of Fine Arts of the National University of La Plata.
