Marion Peck was born on October 3, 1963, in Manila, the Philippines, while her family was on a trip around the world. She grew up in Seattle, Washington, the youngest of four children. She received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1985. Subsequently she studied in two different MFA programs, Syracuse University in New York and Temple University in Rome, after which she lived in Italy for a few years, absorbing art, landscape, and food. Since 1994 she has lived mostly in Seattle, returning frequently to Italy and also spending some time in New York and, more recently, LA.
She is a well established painter in the Northwest, earning accolades for the 10+ years she has been exhibiting in galleries locally and elsewhere. Both narrative and dream inspired, she creates work that could be described as a more grounded sort of surrealism, comparable to the work of Donald Roller Wilson, Odd Nerdrum, and Mark Ryden.
Marion has exhibited her work in Rome, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. Her paintings are in the collections of Danny Elfman, Gary Larson, Mark Ryden, and many other private collectors in the United States and Europe. undefined
