"Michael Talbot is a truly unique artist whose work captures the very essence of femininity in his exquisitely crafted sculptures. Michael started his career after gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools London for post graduate study in 1980, where he was awarded the Landseer Prize in 1983. He studied further at The Sir Henry Doulton Sculpture School under Colin Melbourne ARCA and Dame Elizabeth Frink RA and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1997. He is renowned for his distinctive style of elegant work which often incorporates unusual or contrapposto poses that are technically very demanding. Michael is currently involved in many exciting new projects including sculpting the super model Kate Moss, as well as joining in collaboration with the Royal Ballet and ROH, sculpting their principle dancers . He has been involved in a project ‘Faces that have shaped London’ capturing portraits in bronze of leading politicians, actors and business leaders. Michael often demonstrates his talents through ‘live sculpt’, where members of the public, journalists and artists can come and watch him shape a clay into a beautiful piece of art, and discuss the processes. He is most relaxed, confident and informative in this arena, and it is through this communication as well as the exceptional pieces he produces, that he is fast becoming an international name in the world of art." http://artevolution.com/shop/michael-talbot undefined
