"Missy is an American painter working with acrylic-ink on paper. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Painting and Material & Visual Culture from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010. In 2013 she was awarded a Fulbright Research Grant to study Anatolian textiles in Turkey. In 2014 she was awarded a John Anson Kittredge Educational Grant to extend her research abroad. An avid traveler, Missy has attended artist residencies in the United States, Turkey, Morocco and Finland.
Missy's paintings have exhibited in Brooklyn, Washington DC, Chicago, Berlin, Istanbul and the UK. Her work has been acquired by the Folger Shakespeare Library and Carnegie Mellon University. Her book of paintings is featured in Dawn DeVries Sokol's book, A World of Artist Journal Pages, published in 2015. Her work has also been featured in The National Audubon Society, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure and others.
