Also: Noell S. Oszvald
Noell S. Oszvald is a self-taught photographer and visual artist from Budapest, Hungary. After becoming a Flickr sensation almost overnight for her deeply dark and sophisticated imagery, it came as a viral shock when this artist revealed that she has only been taking photographs for just over a year.

...Oszvald shoots only in black and white because she finds colors to be distracting. “I feel the same way about clothes and other matters of appearance, which why I like to reduce my images to forms, composition and content.” (2013; more at http://mymodernmet.com/noell-oszaid-fine-art-photography/)
...she wishes for viewers of her work to find their own meaning and interpretation of each image. “I don’t want to tell people what to see in my images,” explains Oszvald to My Modern Met, “this is the reason why I never really write any descriptions other than titles. It shows what I wish to express but everyone is free to figure out what the picture says to them. It’s very interesting to read so many different thoughts about the same piece of work.”

...“I’m not a photographer,” she says, but she does use a camera to create her art.
Among her recent works is a series of striking self-portrait photos. Each one is a surreal piece that focuses on black-and-white minimalism.
...The images themselves may be stark and minimalist, but the process is a little more complicated.
“I usually don’t pre-visualize my images; they’re spontaneous. If I have a specific idea in mind I draw sketches that help me perfect the concept before taking the photos I’ll use later on.”
“I find post-processing the most enjoyable part of creating,” she continues. “I build my pictures up from several different ones, much like a jigsaw puzzle.”
