Nora Heysen AM (1911-2003) was one of Australia's most accomplished portrait artists. The daughter of landscape painter Sir Hans Heysen, she studied first with him, and then at the Adelaide School of Fine Arts from 1926 to 1932. Gaining a strong reputation for still-life studies, by the time she was 22 she was represented in three State galleries.
