Tatyana Isaakovna Livshits was born in Moscow. In 1944 she entered the Surikov art institute in Moscow, where she studied under N. Chernyshyov and A. Gritsai. Tatyana was accepted as a member of the Moscow Artists' Union in 1958.
During her entire career she focused on genre painting, including the genres of music, city life, and the children's hospital.
She travelled extensively, in Italy, England and Scotland, and Denmark, all of which she has depicted in her colorful oils and pastels.
From the mid-1970s Tatyana Isaakovna painted portraits, and more recently, Moscow cityscapes and still lifes.

Livshits Tatyana Isaakovna (1925–2010).
Moscow artist, painter. Master of a city landscape. Graduated from the Moscow institute of Surikov (1951), studied at A.M.Gritsaya, V. V. Pochitalova, N. M. Tchernyshov. Member of MOSH (with 1958). Participant of the Moscow, All-Russian, all-Union and international exhibitions. In 1993 the personal exhibition of the artist (Kuznetsky Bridge, 20), in 2005 – in a hall of the Moscow union of artists (Starosadsky Lane, 5) took place. The father of the artist was Isaak Babel's close friend (Babel's letters to Livshits were published recently).
