Emery’s objects point towards the existence of an undoable condition, a right to error: the taxidermist’s animals have crossed over into the discourse of art and there is no return. Unlike Damien Hirst’s use of animals preserved in formaldehyde in vitrines, Emery’s animals really cannot be folded back into the natural history museum.
