Unknown Tibetan artist from Purang-Guge.
This goddess wears the crown of tantric Buddhism with its five diadems ( རིགས་ལྔ། ) featuring also the wisdom eye ( ཡེ་ཤེས་སྤྱན། ). She spews fire from her mouth and brandishes a double-edged sword. Garlanded with shrunken human heads and clad only in a wrap that winds around her loins. A bow is hung across her back. The figure is done in a classic western Tibetan style, i.e. the way in which her hair flames up, an iconographic trait that derives its influence from Kashmir.
