Vaino Kamppuri (August 11, 1891 Vyborg - July 10, 1972 Hattula); Finnish painter.
Kamppuri was the son of Vyborg janitor, who first learned to be a professional painters, but also served as a photo retoucher. He began art studies at Vyborg art school in 1907 and continued at the Finnish Art Society drawing school from 1912 to 1914. The studies were short due to financial difficulties, and Kamppuri spent the next 10 years doing random chores.
He began his career as an artist only in 1924. Kamppuri held his first solo exhibitions 1926 Helsinki Art Salon. His subjects were hämäläinen cultural landscape and urban melancholy images. He lived up to the year that is more than 30 years in Häme Hattula Mierolassa 1938 to his death. However, Kamppuri also painted landscapes of Lapland, for example, the summers 1936-1938 he painted in Pechenga. Kamppuri traveled to other countries such as France and Spain, as well as elsewhere in Europe, and these trips influenced his work.
