The Five of Cups card for the Fairytale Tarot deck. The Five of Cups is about being so overcome with depression and other negative feelings that you are unable to see that things could get better. I chose La Llorona (Ay mis hijos), or the weeping woman. In one variant of her story, she sees her husband cheating on her, and in a rage, drowns their children. Overcome with grief at what she has done, she commits suicide. Now she wanders the earth killing children in hopes to appease her own. In this story, La Llorona keeps digging herself in deeper and deeper. Never seeing that if she just turned around, she could seek a better way.
