Born 1951, Maków Mazowiecki, Poland. Does book illustrations, cartoons, prints, posters, paintings and stage sets. Debuts in the magazines "Polska” and "Szpilki” in 1972. Creator of posters for films and various events, set and costume designs for the Adekwatny Theatre in Warsaw. He has served on the juries of national and international cartoon competitions. Initiator and organizer of international cartoon competitions: “The Ball Is In Play”, “The Great and the Little Warsaw”, as well as the national competitions for the “Cartoon of the Month” and “Cartoon of the Year”. Director of the Museum of Caricature and Cartoon Art (MCCA) in Warsaw (2011-14). It is as if he was carefully putting into effect in his life the idea contained in his well-known and much-awarded cartoon which presents a ‘villa’ (or detached house, as it was once called) with video surveillance cameras watching all the neighborhood and with a pleasant-looking design drawing upon tradition, except that there are no windows and no doors, in fact - no openings of any kind whatsoever. This ensures maximum security to the inhabitants and full secrecy concerning everything inside. Zaradkiewicz’s house in Izabelin has doors and windows and is open to guests, but the principle of keeping its inhabitants’ lives secret still holds. Rarely does anyone avoid publicity as carefully as the master of the house – though when he reads this text, he will most likely bridle at this remark of mine and mutter that I am just imagining things....
