Kūkai 空海

This is actually a 10th century copy of Kūkai's original work, a preface and calligraphic inscription Masudaike lake in Yamato province. The calligraphic text is written in Kūkai's distinctive Zattai-sho style (雑体書), and commemorates the gift of water to all sentient beings who benefit from the lake.
