[http://thereconstructionists.org/page/9] LC: I try to find a really interesting photograph of the woman I am going to draw – and I use that as a reference. For some of these women, literally only one photograph exists, so I may need to go to the library and do some additional research. The photos are often black and white, so I use them to get the likeness of the woman, and then I breathe new life into each portrait, by infusing bold color into the clothing and background.
