Source: State Library of Victoria Barak, leader of the Wurundjeri people and an artist, was born near Healesville around 1820. He was present at the meeting between Aboriginal leaders and John Batman’s party in June 1835. Barak became an advocate and leader in the wider Aboriginal community.
