Georgia O'Keeffe

Beginning in 1934, O’Keeffe spent summers at a dude ranch. She sought out Ghost Ranch because of its natural wonders and remoteness from cities and the fast pace of modern life. The artist became so enamored of the geological formations of the badlands there that she began to complain that the landscapes at Lake George, New York, that she once painted were too “green” and “soft” by comparison. In New Mexico, she found “such a beautiful, untouched lonely feeling place, such a fine part of what I call the ‘Faraway.'” (https://designlifenetwork.com/georgia-okeeffe-living-modern-virtual-tour/)
