Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Ocean Boulevard, the Bank Of America building was expected to have some blue on its facade. In this photograph it is mostly the blue of the clear California sky, as the facade itself is just bright concrete and shiny reflective windows. The blue sky is combined with the blue art display in front of the building, and connected to it only visually. But from under the artistic tarp, the connection with the building and the sky is easily made and captured in slow foot traffic around it.
...Using only a single camera and minimal Photoshopping, Olic creates abstract images: “Instead of just taking a photograph, I move around a building and slightly change and adjust the composition. The object is manipulated by walking, zooming, checking sun angles, climbing garages…”
